Oregon Hidden Valley Jasper Cabochon ITEM # hvjc4. This colorful jasper was mined from very nearby the old Morrisonite or Morrison Ranch Jasper mines of Oregon. Another one of those classic jaspers from the Owyhee Mountains of southeastern Oregon. The mine owner (my brother Steve) has told me this jasper is no longer available .. he can not find any more of this nice quality rough to mine. He plans to continue trying .. but for today .. this jasper seems to be no more. Back in the 1970s .. this jasper was named MOONSHINE JASPER .. it comes from nearby the Carasite/ Carrasite mines of today. This cab has a high gloss polish front to back and measures about 22.9 x 17.9 mm and is 5 mm thick. A nice smaller teardrop shape that works well in many types of jewelry pieces. One picture is with an American Quarter (25 cents) to help show you the size. Handcrafted right here in our Marsing, Idaho rock shop.
